Culinary Arts Club goes bowling

Recently the culinary arts club had the opportunity to go bowling at Ledgeview Lanes in Fond du Lac. This was our first gathering to hang out outside of class to have fun and enjoy a night out. It was a small gathering since it was league night at the bowling alley, but for the people who stayed around had a great time bowling, singing, and dancing. My first two rounds of bowling were not too good but the third round became a bowling throw down with our new instructor Mike who is a Moraine Park alumni. We went back and forth getting spares and strikes after strikes. As result I ended winning with a score of 216 to his 202, it was a close round to the very end. This was my highest game I bowled so far, and I hope I can score high again soon. I didn't stay too long because I had to Dj, but the rest of the group stayed to finish off their games. Culinary Club goes bowling

Ahoy Mates! For the annual end of semester activity, the culinary club went bowling at Ledgeview Lanes. For all the hard work we put into fundraisers, going bowling was a great way for us to enjoy the end of the semester. There were twelve members of the culinary club who attend the event. We had a great time bowling and dancing the evening away. Although I haven’t gone bowling since March my scores were pretty good, and each game my scores went up. My highest game was a 174, and I was satisfied with that score. Hopefully in the near future I can be consistent with a score like that. We bowled four games and didn’t want to stop. Of course all good things come to an end so we all headed home. I am looking forward to next semester for a fresh start and meeting new culinary students. Hello February!

Ahoy Mates! Today, Wednesday, February 1 is the start of a new month! Usually February is a short month, but this year we have an extra day due to Leap Year and the weather has been wonderful for it being winter. Since I don’t have class on Wednesdays until the second half of the semester, I am able to work more hours at my jobs. We were a bit busy for a Wednesday at Qdoba, but I got through the day because I was looking forward to go bowling with my friends from MPTC. As I finished my work at my second job at Service Master I quickly headed home, and changed into my bowling gear. Afterwards I headed over to Ledgeview Lanes to go bowling with my friends. These weekly bowling nights come in handy because I am able to hangout and relax with friends outside of the classroom. Like always it is always a great time singing, dancing, and bowling at the Lanes, never a dull moment. I didn’t reach my goal of breaking 200 yet, but I came close in two games. Well like they all say practice makes perfect! I am hoping next week I can achieve my goal, but most important I have a great outing with my friends. Afterwards we grabbed a quick bite at Taco Bell before we headed home. I can tell even though February is a short month it is going to a busy month filled with homework, projects, scholarship applications, and much more! No worries though I get to share my experience with you, as I continue to learn how to create an amazing video blog! Well mates, that is all for now time for bed. Ciao!

New Week New Year

On January 3, I had a productive day for the new year. Like many others I plan on staying in shape and doing something productive each day. In order for me to accomplish my goals I started to write down new things I do each day so at the end of the year I can see all the productive things I did. This method shows things in life are not always negative or bad. Anyways I started my Tuesday with me working out to my new video game I bought for my Kinect Xbox called UFC Training. This workout is the perfect method to get a great workout without leaving the house. I can tell this workout video will have an impact on my body throughout the session. Afterwards I started to cleanup and rearrange my room to become more organized with the different things I have to do each day. Once I finished with my tasks, I started to cook some food for supper. I decided to cook a small hen marinated in beer in the crock pot with vegetables. It turned out really tasty and tender, I recommend for anybody who is always on the go to use the crock pot method because it can cook for hours while at work or doing something else. For people who never used a crock pot you basically put your meat in a pot and let it slow cook for hours and your food is guaranteed to come out tender. Later in the night a group of friends from MPTC and I decided to go bowling at Ledgeview Lanes in Fond du Lac. There were about ten of us that got together to have a great time over the winter holiday. It is always a good time to meet up with friends over break. We all had a good time of course singing, bowling and dancing. My scores weren’t the greatest but one game I did bowl a 189. I hope one of these days my bowling average can be in the 200 area, but until then I’ll practicing until I reach my goal. Day 3 of finals

As the week gets closer to Winter Break, I still can’t believe how fast this semester went by. Well on my Wednesday final I had my baking class, since I taken my final two weeks ago the only thing we had to do was clean up the baking to which we were assigned to. It take us long to complete our cleaning assignment, so since I had a lot of free time left I figure I could squeeze in some club hours to finish off package the cookies we were selling. There were about four hundred cookies to be package up and be sold to people who were eager to purchase them at every moment. I knew we had a lot of cookies, but it wasn’t until we finished I realize how much cookies we actually did. We package fifty trays of cookies, and we sold them for a good cost of ten dollars.

In my afternoon class we had a fun final for hot sandwich class; we played Jeopardy to test our knowledge throughout the semester. Each time we got an answer correct we would receive a pen as an inside joke with our instructor Lois. As a class we had a good time answering questions and making fun one another, I must say this was a fun class everyone in class has an unique personality which made our class so much fun! It is a bit sad that this is our last class together but there will more fun ahead.
After class I quickly got ready for a job interview for Service Master in town, which is a janitorial service that cleans different companies around town. The interview went well and I got the job after I said when I was able to work. This is a perfect time for me to get a second job because winter holiday is approaching and I need extra money to save up for my backpacking trip in the summer. Once I finish my interview I headed back to school to meet up some friends from Moraine Park. We were all getting hungry so we decided it was time for dinner, so of course we went across the street to our favorite restaurant BackYard Grill and bar. Like always we had good service and the food was delicious, we enjoyed every bite of our meal. Then we headed back to school to play the board game Yahtzee; this game never gets old every roll counts. We played this until it was time for us to go bowling at Ledgeview lanes which is basically next door to BackYard Grill and bar. The special on Wednesday is buy two game and get one free, which is a good deal but on Tuesday and Thursday are better deal because it is all you can bowl for two hours. Anyways we had a good time bowling and jamming to music; with the three games I bowled a 191, 119, and 171. I haven’t bowled that in awhile hopefully I can break 200 next time. Since it was late and we had class in the morning my friends decided to sleep over my house, especially since I live in town it wouldn’t make since to drive so far home. I must say this was a great Wednesday! Well I’m docking the ship for the night; I’ll catch you on the next voyage!

Turkey Break Day 3

Wednesday, November 23, was the first Wednesday in awhile not baking something good but a change in pace is not always a bad thing. So instead I began my day with a morning workout then I started on my blog to get the day started. In the afternoon I met up with a friend that I have not seen in years at Starbucks in Fond du Lac on Johnson Street right of the highway. It was good to catch up on our lives; it is amazing how fast time goes by when we are constantly on the go. We laughed about funny stories in the past, and our plans to do in the future. It felt like we were there for a short time, but actually we were there for about two hours. Since we had other things to do we had to leave, but we are planning another coffee break soon. If anyone is looking for ideas to do in town with friends I recommend go to Starbucks and grab a comfy chair and relax.

Later that night I met up with some friends from MPTC at Ledgeview Lanes in Fond du Lac to go bowling. The specials for the night were buy two get one free game for $9 including shoes rental. There were seven of us, and we had a great time bowling and dancing to the music we picked out on the jukebox. For every time there was a spare or strike we cheered for one another. I must say after bowing three games it is definitely a good workout, you burn a lot of calories without realizing it. Once we finished bowling we were getting hungry, but we couldn’t decide what we were craving, then remembered Applebee’s is open late night. We drove to Applebee’s and there were a good amount of people there since it was turkey eve, more people decided to come out. The good part of ordering at Applebee’s is that there appetizer menu is half-off, therefore you get your money worth. Our waiter was really funny; she made our night and the food was good. Once we were done we all went home and got ready for the big day ahead for turkey day and Black Friday shopping. Now the fun things lay ahead, until next time ciao!

October Weekend Wrap Up

This past weekend was filled with people dressing up and enjoying the weekend festivities. For me it was a normal relaxing weekend because I had the weekend off from work. I enjoyed spending the time with friends and catching up with my family since I haven’t heard from them in awhile. It is always nice catching up with my family because I only see them a couple times a year since I am three hours away and our schedules are always busy. Besides that my fun is always on Sunday once I start playing soccer at the YMCA in Oshkosh. We played another good game although we wind up tying the opposing team 3-3 after losing the lead with seven minutes left, but we fought hard to tie the game. Afterwards a group of friends from Moraine Park and I decided to go bowling at the Ledgeview Lanes in Fond du Lac. The Sunday specials were buy two games and get one free with cosmic bowling. I like bowling in the dark because the neon colors provide a unique atmosphere. To make bowling more fun we even decided to dress up in our costumes instead of the typical bowling clothing. I have pictures below of us bowling in our costumes. I recommend for anyone who is willing to do something out of the norm to try bowling dressed in their favorite characters. After two hours of bowling we finally finished three games then we decided to grab some food at Taco Bell since we burned so many calories bowling. I must say, the simplest things are the best way to have fun instead of planning things out because the expectations are not as high.
